One scheduling proposal is on the table. The definition and the studio-sequence analysis are the committee’s working instruments. They are not adopted curriculum.
Draft proposal
Offer IMDM227 in fall and spring
Treat IMDM227 as the first gateway to expand. Consider IMDM290 only if, after that change, it is the next bottleneck. Do not assume both courses must run every semester at once. Staffing, enrollment, facilities, and the program’s ability to keep upper-level electives are part of the proposal.
The published structure is clear: IMDM490 does not require IMDM390, and the calendar often places 390 beside the showcase. The committee has not recommended that 390 become a prerequisite, or what an individual student should carry from one studio to the next.
The definition is in use for reading the curriculum. It does not recommend a transcript label, a credit minimum, or which cluster to build first. Game design and artificial intelligence are the pilots for that standard.
